Vicky MacGregor has worked in the long-term health care field for 23 years. She is currently the Associate Director of Health Services at Casa Dorinda and a valued member of Sansum Clinic's board of trustees. Her husband Ray is the director of the County Law Library and a happy Sansum Clinic patient for 24 years.
 Vicky and Ray grew up in the same small Michigan town, attended the same high school and even the same college. They began dating after meeting at his sister's wedding, and married in October 1985. But the young couple's hopes and dreams were threatened just months later when Ray was diagnosed with adult-onset diabetes. "A clinician at Sansum Clinic saved my life", says Ray, who has been treated by Sansum Clinic ever since.
Ray manages his diabetes through a wide range of medications under the direction of his physician Dr. Daniel Berger. "When I was first diagnosed, a dietician explained to me the need for a low carbohydrate diet. She said my body was turning starchy carbohydrates into sugar and that my fast-food diet was seriously jeopardizing my health." Because of an early diagnosis and the great care he received at Sansum Clinic he and Vicky can now look forward to sharing a healthy retirement together.
"We are so grateful to Sansum Clinic and we wanted to do something meaningful as a way of showing our appreciation," says Vicky.
In 2003, Sansum Clinic's Board of Trustees established an endowment fund to ensure that the tradition of caring continues in perpetuity. The Partners Circle was created to recognize and honor those grateful patients who contributed a minimum of $10,000 to the endowment through a gift of cash, stock or a planned gift. Vicky and Ray are founding members of The Partners Circle through a gift in their estate plans.
