How does the Wave work?
- All of our exam rooms are being outfitted with computer terminals. This will allow your physician and other caregivers to document your visit directly into the Wave and share information on the screen with you. This will result in a record that is complete and up-to-date.
-
What information will the Wave contain?
Information in youfr electronic health record will include a complete and continuously updated record of the care you receive at Sansum Clinic. Your Wave health record will include:
- Medications
- Laboratory and other test results
- Personalized educational resources
- Immunization records
- Your medical history and detailed information about your visits
-
Allergies
-
What do I need to do?
There isn't anything you need to do. You may be asked to provide identification in addition to your insurance card, or provide other information to ensure your record is complete. Once this information is entered into the Wave, it will be readily available to authorized Sansum Clinic caregivers. Your information will not need to be re-entered at each visit, you will just need to verify if certain information has changed, such as your allergies or your insurance coverage. Soon, you will have the opportunity to register for online access to your health record via MyChart, our secure web site for patients.
-
Is my information secure?
Yes. Only approved healthcare providers and staff will be able to access your electronic record, and they will only have access to the parts of your record that they need to serve you. The Wave utilizes technology similar to that used by the banking industry to protect your information.
